Claire Pearson
Biography
Dr. Pearson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Wayne State University School of Medicine and the Director of Clinical Research for Emergency Medicine at Ascension St. John. Dr. Pearson is passionate about public health issues and how Emergency Medicine providers play a role in remedying short term and long term critical health problems. The shared goals of public health and Emergency Medicine often overlap on topics including alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse; injury; violence; sexually transmitted diseases and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection and chronic hypertension. Recent work has included an Emergency Department based willingness to quit smoking cessation projects.
