Biography
Dr. Roa’s research focuses on implementation of various pharmacist-led care pathways to connect patients to care via mobile health units. One of the care pathways and research project she developed was ACHIEVE-Cessation, a novel smoking cessation program that aims to remove barriers and increase access to resources to help patients quit smoking via mobile health units and remote phone follow-up. This program includes smoking cessation counseling and medication therapy management. The ultimate goal of Dr. Roa’s research is to increase access to screening and convenient medication therapy management care in order to decrease population level cardiovascular risk through care pathways that focus on smoking cessation, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and more.
